Satisfaction in Business Development

August 01, 20253 min read

If you have a business, what is your interpretation of personal success?

To extend beyond that, if we look at satisfaction in business development, we recognize that when we unlock personal success, you're not just improving your own life, you are positively influencing those around you.

Success can inspire and motivate others whether it's your family, friends, or colleagues. As you grow and achieve your goals you become a role model for others, demonstrating that success is possible through perseverance, dedication, and self-awareness. You inspire others!

What you may not be prepared for is that not everyone is going to be happy once you begin to demonstrate areas of success. As I talked about in last month’s blog article, there is a personal growth that takes place inside of you as you begin to grow professionally. The two are intertwined.

Strong statement coming up here – I believe you cannot have one without the other. Without personal development, you cannot have professional development and vice versa. We often get complacent and become stagnant. As you begin to exhibit the signs of success, be aware – not everyone is going to be happy for you. This is their cross to bear, not yours.

You have to continue to run your race. A lot of the businesses are created to serve others. There is no greater feeling in serving others. It creates a connection for us.

As nurses I think one of the biggest sins in the healthcare system was building the wall between the patient and the nurse. The wall known as the computer screen. This wall was created for a reason. We lost touch with each other as nurses, we lost touch with our patients, and we lost touch with ourselves in what fills our love cups. Connectivity. Whether it's taking care of patients at the bedside, or through mentoring another nurse or sharing experiences, we crave connectivity.

The connection we find in contributing to one's success through healing, business development or just sharing small talk can open doors to help others on their own journey. The ripple effect of personal success creates a more positive, supportive environment for everyone.

When you unlock personal success, it can contribute to building a legacy. Success isn't just about what you achieve in the moment, or how much you grow your income. It is about the long-term impact you leave on the world.

When you pursue goals that align with your passions and values, you create a legacy that reflects your true self. The legacy could be through the work you do, the relationships you nurture, or the change you inspire in others. Unlocking personal success ensures that your life has meaning and that you leave behind a positive mark on the world.

In a world that has become instant, take time to honor what fills you up in terms of success. Don’t be so rushed to get to the next task. Get back to connecting with yourself as well as others.
